Gifts For Life was conceptualized with the intention of consolidating the fragmented market of ethical products so that wider group of sellers of such product are able to connect with their global consumers.

Gifts for Life is a social enterprise but unlike the usual misconception about social enterprises, we do believe in being profitable because that will ensure we are sustainable. And we are crystal clear that we must be sustainable in order to ensure that we continue to support people make a sustainable living and transform their lives.  In addition, we commit to allocating at least 50% of our profit for reinvestment for social causes.

We as Gifts For Life relate our work with a simple and old proverb:

‘Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.'

We are happy to partner with those who are taking these short steps to make a long- term difference but we apparently visualize a world where everyone has a fishing rod and they know how to fish. And we provide the market place to sell that fish!

This being our ultimate goal, we realize that Rome was not built in a day. A lot of little steps would be required in the process.  Our steps though not limited to, includes the following –

PLATFORM TO REACH THE WIDER CUSTOMER:

We are here to provide the platform to bridge the gap between producers, seller and customers of ethical products. We are the avenues for producers of ethical products to showcase their efforts and talents. Our mission is to create a community of people who like to make a positive difference in society through their choice of producing, promoting and purchasing. We aim to provide the infrastructure to develop and empower the underprivileged, enabling them to live sustainably and break the vicious cycle of poverty.

INVEST IN SKILL BUILDING ACTIVITY TO PREPARE PEOPLE FOR EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES:

We are committed to investing in training of underprivileged people so that they can acquire skills that can help them earn a living for themselves. On the one hand this would make these people employable; on the other hand, it would help create talent pool for our suppliers who can employ these people and increase their production capacity.

SUPPORTING SUPPLIERS WITH INVESTMENT REQUIRED FOR UP SCALING:

We invest in our suppliers if and when they feel the need to up-scale their manufacturing facilities. This investment can range from training people as mentioned above, helping provide better sanitization, cleaner and healthy canteen, and so on.
